Bloom Dance Studio - Bloom in Color.

“Art should cause violence to be set aside.” Leo Tolstoy

I had the honor of working all day (and night) at Bloom Dance Studio’s rehearsal and recital. Five months ago, Erin Jensen adopted me into the Bloom family as a teacher and it has been a bright spot in my life.

I believe with all my heart that there is peace-crafting power in the arts and tonight’s recital spoke just that. There is something special about Bloom. Art is an act of hope that can and should reconcile man to man and man to God, just like the Prince of Peace came to remake a broken world. Bloom does this day in and day out. True artists/peacemakers are responsible for not only creating peace through their work but also reproducing peace in others. Erin and her Bloom staff do just that and they raise up beautiful dancers.

“Create we must, and respond to this dark hour. The world needs artists who dedicate themselves to communicate the image of Shalom. Jesus is Shalom. Shalom is not just the absence of war, but wholeness, healing and joy of fullness of humanity. We need to collaborate within our communities, to respond individually to give the world our Shalom vision.” – Makoto Fujimura
