Stephanie - Home birth.

I had the privilege of photographing my friend's home birth. It was one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever been a part of. Watching a new life come into this world is so AMAZING. It's beautiful. And raw. And precious. I'm honored to have witnessed such an event.

I arrived at Stephanie and Stuart’s house around 7pm, the doula came at 8pm, and the midwife arrived at 9:30pm. We switched from their bedroom to the nursery where the birthing pool was about 30 or so minutes before she delivered. At about 10pm, Stephanie’s water broke (in the water), and Nathan immediately began to come. A couple contractions later, his head was out, his eyes were open, ad he was just chillin’ underwater. Nathan arrived at 10:12pm.
