My son turned 11 on Saturday, which means I have roughly seven more years with him under my roof. Seven!

When I look at these photos of Ava, I can’t help but think of her mom, Erin. The feelings of pride and excitement mixed with an aching of releasing and launching.

And while we know letting them go is what will inevitably happen… We just want these kids to stay close.
